A Simple Idea...
Build an association of qualified general contractors with similar retail and restaurant project experience, capabilities and services. Market the association to regional and national concepts.

We have the size; we have the strength. We have local expertise and national reach.

The NACC Story
The National Association of Commercial Contractors, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri was incorporated as a cooperative in August of 2009. Barry Spiegelglass, NACC’s Founder and Executive Director, realized the need for a national organization to represent, promote and market both the association and its individual general contractor members to the owners, developers and construction departments of regional and national, retail and restaurant concepts.

Building on the idea of networking a "collective strength in numbers” is an integral part of the association's activities, and one of the most valuable benefits of membership.

Who's the Power Behind the NACC Today?
The short answer -- people in the retail and restaurant general contracting industry are the driving force behind the organization. The board of directors monitors policy and goals. A management company is responsible for day-to-day association operations and activities. The activities of both groups are overseen by Barry Spiegelglass, Executive Director, together with Margo Colestock, Director of Business Development, and staff in the St. Louis office.

NACC Goals
The purpose of the association is represented in the goals that we will aggressively seek to accomplish:
  • Educate decision makers on the benefits of using a qualified local general contractor
  • Promote communication with regional/national concepts to facilitate professional partnerships
  • Facilitate our members being included on qualified bid lists of regional/national concepts’ construction projects
  • Enhance communication between parties to build on a network of qualified contractors capable of delivering projects on-time and with-in budget
  • Provide a network to allow our members to easily communicate
  • Create a platform to share information about concepts – resources, standards, processes and procedures, etc.
  • Establish a buyer’s group for member discounts

Benefits of the NACC Membership
  • The NACC’s dedicated, user–friendly Web site will showcase and promote each member company and their completed concept/chain projects
  • Members are recognized as one of the select contractors of the NACC
  • Members will be the only contractor member in its region or city, except for a few of the largest markets where there might be two members
  • Members can freely network because they are not usually direct competitors
  • Members can expand their business opportunities by using other members’ connections with concepts and chains
  • A full-time business development director promotes the NACC to national and regional concepts, owners and developers, architects, and others who can influence the hiring of a general contractor

Our Methods
  • Build association membership by building contractor relationships across the country
  • Present to regional and national concepts/chains to establish an expansive presence and reach
  • Represent a consultative role in providing industry and member information

We're Always Working at the NACC
The NACC will continuously work toward the development and improvement of the following resources:
  • Association memberships throughout the country and in major metropolitan areas
  • Build a network of regional and national concept/chain relationships and contacts
